Ukraine Action Summit, Fall 2024

The American Coalition for Ukraine held the 5th Ukraine Action Summit in Washington, D.C., from September 23 – 25, 2024.

SUMMARY AND FIRST RESULTS

More than 500 delegates from 44 states attended the Ukraine Action Summit in Washington, D.C. last week, where they held more than 300 congressional meetings emphasizing the importance of strong military support for Ukraine and calling for decisive steps to ensure the country’s lasting security. The Ukraine Action Summit coincided with a visit to the White House by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The day after the Summit, President Biden announced measures intended to ensure that Ukraine receives allocated funding, enhance Ukraine’s long-range strike capabilities, strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses, build the capacity of Ukraine’s air force, counter Russian sanctions evasion and money laundering, and coordinate efforts across 50 countries in support of Ukraine.

Notably, President Biden authorized $5.5 billion in Presidential Drawdown Authority to ensure that his Administration can fully utilize the funding appropriated by Congress to support the drawdown of U.S. equipment for Ukraine and the subsequent replenishment of U.S. stockpiles—one of the six advocacy priorities of the Ukraine Action Summit.

In two weeks following the Summit, H.R. 9501 had gained 23 cosponsors in the U.S. House of Representatives, signifying strong congressional support for Ukraine.

The Ukraine Action Summit was made possible with support from sponsors Nova Ukraine, Razom for Ukraine, United Help Ukraine, UNWLA, and For Peace.

Our goal for this summit is to bring as many constituents from critical districts as possible. Unfortunately, some of these districts are very remote, making travel costs prohibitive.

We’re launching a limited-time fundraiser. The American Coalition for Ukraine and UACC have partnered to create a travel fund for delegates from these districts. Please consider donating money or miles to help subsidize their travel expenses. Your support can make a significant difference!

For more information or to donate miles please contact member of delegates relationship team Christina Tershakovets christina.tershakovec@americancoalitionforukraine.org
