In the interest of having a safe and productive Summit, please carefully review the following guidelines.
If a participant violates any of these rules during Summit, organizers will respond with any action they deem appropriate based on the circumstances, up to and including dismissal from Summit & blacklisting from future summits.
- By attending the Ukraine Action Summit, each participant agrees to act in a professional, respectful and dignified manner towards all fellow participants, organizers, volunteers, and staff at all venues. Harassment or inappropriate behavior of any kind towards anyone will not be tolerated.
- By attending Summit, each participant agrees to participate as a member of his/her/their state delegation and to abide by and follow the instructions of the delegation lead.
- Meetings are scheduled by the state/delegation leads, who will also determine which delegates will attend which meetings. If you are not assigned to attend a particular meeting, you cannot attend. “Drop-in” meetings with unscheduled offices are also organized solely by the state/delegation lead.
- Abide by the dress code guidelines for Congressional meetings (“business attire” or “Ivan Franko”/vyshyvanka). Wear comfortable closed-toe shoes. No sneakers or sandals. Wear your lanyard, which will identify you as a participant in Summit.
- Talking points and policy “asks” are limited to those set by the Coalition and will be provided during training. By attending, you agree to keep your discussion to these topics. Attendees are not permitted to advocate their own personal or business causes, nor to provide any written materials other than Coalition materials without prior written consent. (Exchange of business cards is permitted.)
- Participants who are between meetings (and not actively en route to/from a meeting) should gather in the areas identified by the Coalition, usually one of several Congressional/Senate cafeterias.
- Do not photograph any Congressional meetings without consent of everyone present. (Be sure to request and take a group photo at the end.) Photographs will be taken by organizers throughout the event; by attending, you agree to have your image and likeness used by the American Coalition for Ukraine.
- Do not film, livestream, or otherwise record any Congressional meetings or Summit programming under any circumstances.
- Do not bring any of the following items, which are prohibited on House, Senate, and other federal property:
- weapons of any kind including firearms and projectile weapons, ammunition, sharp tools or blades (including pocket knives with blade length over 3 inches), anything explosive or dangerous (including commercially available mace/pepper spray)
